On October 26 we went to Saunton Sands Hotel, North Devon, for the wedding of our mates Naomi and Marv. It was a fantastic location - old school art deco hotel set above a long, wind-swept beach. Pretty fine wedding too.

For the past few Novembers we've been to Discover Dogs at Earls Court to pine over all the dogs we probably won't be able to have for a while. Here are a few shots from DD 2002.

New Year's Eve 2002 at Ross Street, graciously hosted by Mariana and Mark. (I guess if we'd've been less hammered we would've taken more photos.)
We spent our third wedding anniversary (20 February 2003) in Bath.

We spent a week over Easter in Wales. All of it. Did three national parks in seven days. And I finally learned how to pronounce Pwhlleli, which is where my grandmother was from, although we didn't make it there in the end coz we ran out of time. Anyway, here are some pretty photos. The first few were taken in Pembrokeshire, aka 'little England beyond Wales'. Here we stayed with Jack's aunt Shirley, who lives in a tiny village called Llawhaden, in an old mill. She has a river at the bottom of her garden, with many water voles. The first day we were there we did part of the Pembrokeshire coastal walk.
This is what will happen if you go too close to the edge. Shame they didn't leave room for bilingual speech bubbles saying things like Aieeee! If only I'd paid heed to the graphic and unambiguous warning signs!
(Eh?)
An adder, which we disturbed while it was basking on the clifftop in the late afternoon sun. Crikey, those things can run! I mean, slither.
The next day we went to the seaside resort town of Tenby
Then we went to the Brecon Beacons for Nik's thirtieth birthday celebrations. It was a great party, lasting all weekend, which probably explains why I don't seem to have any photographic records of it, although the memory lingers on, mostly. Anyway, sorry about that.
After the Brecons we went mountain biking in Coed y Brenin, in Snowdonia. I only fell off once, while going around a tight corner, and this was because my bike magically dematerialised beneath me and reappeared two feet to my left.
While in Snowdonia we also had a pizza with leeks on it, but sadly I forgot to take a picture of this too.
On the way back to England we went to the Dr Who exhibition in Llangollen. It was great.
On May 10-11 2003 Lisa and I did the Moonwalk through London to raise money for breast cancer treatment and research. We're dressed as belly dancers, in case you're wondering.

In June my brother Jim and his wife Jo came to visit us. We went to Bletchley Park, home of the Enigma code-breaking machines used during the Second World War, as well as the world's first electronic computer. Its a fascinating historical site. While queuing in the cafe, Jim got chatting with an old lady who used to work there as as a codebreaker. This was the first time she's been back to Bletchley Park since the war. I think this encounter made Jim's day.
That and the flypast of the Lancaster and Spitfire, commemorating the anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic. And the fact that he got to play on an actual Enigma machine.

We also went to Wicken Fen, a Fenland nature reserve and conservation site run by the National Trust.
