Intended to write up last night's gig, but you can't say fairer than Jack, really.

Next Klezmer Rebs gig is next Saturday, 15 August, 7.30pm, at the benefit concert for the 15 October Solidarity Group, at Newtown Community Theatre. The gig features touring US activist singer songwriter David Rovics, and the Rebs will play a 30 minute warmup set.

And if you like your music FREE, come and see us on Friday 21 August, 7 pm, at the Museum of Wellington, where we're taking part in the Sampler Season.

Sounds like shmaltz

The Klezmer Rebs are going to be live on National Radio this Friday. We're on Afternoons with Jim Mora from 1.10–2.00, chatting and playing some Kiwi klez, including clarinetist Urs's splendid anthem 'Anarchia Total'.

If you can't tune in, it will be available as a podcast from the Afternoons web page.

Now I am going to get off the puter because I have buggered my neck in a small child wrangling incident and I need conserve my crumbling spinal column for Friday's frenzied fiddling. (Thank heavens for as-yet-un-surcharged ACC treatment is all I can say.)
