Saw the lovely stand-in midwife yesterday (consultation complete with nice cup of tea and two chocolate biscuits – what a country!) She gave me a bit of a prod with the Doppler and we were able to hear the Heir Presumptive's little heartbeat swooshing away in the gurgling darkness. (Just the one HP too, much to my relief.) Oh and contrary to best practice, I have lost a small amount of weight since the beginning of the pregnancy: that'll be the inability to keep food down thing, I expect.
Just got back from a lovely week with the whanau in Auckland, in the course of which I popped – characteristic of second pregnancies, this phenomenon is evidently triggered by the simple act of reading the positive result off the test kit, shortly after which you hear the muffled PHOOOOOOMPH noise from below your ribcage that is your belly expanding magnificently forth like a self-inflating life raft.
